OUR MISSION:

Project Blue is a group of ocean enthusiasts who came together in 2018 to make a homegrown film on the harm plastic pollution is wreaking on our environment. We cover the failures of Western recycling systems and circular solutions to our unhealthy reliance on single-use plastics.

DRIVE CHANGE

STEP 1

EDUCATE:

When we throw something ‘away’ or in the recycling bin, our minds do not think about where that away is. More often than not our ‘away’ is either to a landfill or to another country, with inadequate infrastructure to manage domestic waste – let alone our nation’s waste as well.

As a result, plastic materials are dumped, burned, or buried- each with their own devastating consequences. If we can educate both producers and consumers to rely less on plastic in the first place, the flow on effects for a sustainable future will be invaluable.

STEP 2

DOCUMENT:

Through the art of film, we have documented the real-world impacts of plastic pollution on our oceans and all that is connected to them. In ‘For The Blue’, we follow plastic from its supply chain roots, through to its short stay in the hands of consumers, to its eventual shoreline (or sea floor) home.

Following this journey, we highlight real-world, researched, and proven solutions to remove, reduce, and replace plastics with sustainable alternatives, in that order.

STEP 3

DRIVE CHANGE:

Our goals are to drive change by:

Sharing our passion for our natural world.

Exposing the impacts our consumption is having on it.

Uplifting founders of our circular economy.

Inspiring our audience to wield their consumer power and take meaningful action in their day-to-day lives.

Empowering the next generation of change-makers to think and act big about the issues that will define our futures.
